When private label is the right call

Private label is not the cheap version of OEM. It is the correct choice for a specific set of situations.

Choose private label if you

  • Are testing a market before committing to tooling
  • Need stock on shelf within one to two months
  • Want to validate demand before a bigger investment
  • Sell across several categories and need flexibility
  • Do not yet need a design nobody else can order

Choose full OEM instead if you

  • Need a housing shape that is exclusively yours
  • Intend to build long-term brand equity on the design
  • Are targeting volume above 10,000 pcs per year
  • Need custom wavelength or firmware behaviour
  • Have a channel that demands a visible differentiator

What you can change without tooling

Everything below is included in the quoted private-label price unless noted.

01

Logo

Silkscreen, pad printing or laser etching on the housing. Artwork proofing takes 2–3 days and a physical sample is produced before mass production.

02

Colorway

Pantone matching against the existing shell. We recommend approving a sprayed or printed sample rather than a digital proof, because screens and ink do not match.

03

Packaging

Printed folding box, sleeve or rigid gift box, plus inserts and branded storage bag. See the custom packaging page for construction and lead times.

04

Manual & labels

Multilingual manual, warranty card and regulatory labelling printed to the requirements of your destination market, including CE, WEEE and battery symbols.

Changing shell shape, wavelength mixture or firmware logic moves the order into full OEM and requires tooling.

Private label FAQ

Q: What is the minimum order for private label?

300 pcs for handheld devices (DYM-024, DYM-046, DYM-078) and 500 pcs for LED masks and the remaining handheld models. Models can be mixed within one order to reach the threshold.

Q: Can other brands buy the same model?

Yes, unless you have agreed market exclusivity. A private-label model is a shared platform, so another buyer may order the same device in a different color and packaging. If exclusivity matters to your positioning, move to full OEM.

Q: What do you need from me to quote?

The model, quantity, destination market and whether you need custom packaging. If you have logo files and manual text, send them and we can return a full quotation including packaging the same week.

Q: Can I move to my own design later?

Yes, and many clients do exactly that. Starting with private label lets you validate demand before paying for tooling. When you are ready, we develop the mold and you own the design outright.

Q: Do you supply the compliance documents?

Yes. CE, RoHS, FCC and FDA documentation, MSDS and UN38.3 for battery products, and a third-party optical test report for LED models. These are supplied as part of the order, not as an optional extra.
